Thank you for your interest in knife defense training. My mission is to share the best empty-hand knife defense training that I've learned from traditional martial arts, military combatives, law enforcement use-of-force training, and years of personal study and pressure testing. This training is designed for professionals who may face edged-weapon threats, with one goal above all else: helping you survive the encounter and return home safely at the end of your shift.
Beyond physical skills, this training is intended to support officer wellness. Confronting violence and the constant possibility of deadly force creates significant stress that can contribute to elevated cortisol levels, burnout, and long-term health challenges. By developing confidence in your empty-hand defense skills, you are better prepared to manage the fear, anxiety, and stress that accompany life-threatening situations.
A final objective of this training is to improve decision making under pressure. It pains me to see good officers jeopardize their careers and be criminally charged for making bad decisions during knife encounters because their heightened fear hindered their cognitive processing of objective facts during rapidly evolving situations. Officers need quality, ongoing empty-hand knife defense training throughout their careers. When officers have confidence in their empty-hand knife defensive skills, they are less likely to panic during knife encounters and more likely to respond appropriately, reducing the risk of resorting to deadly force before it is legally justified or tactically necessary.
I appreciate your commitment to professional development and look forward to training with you.
Respectfully,
Brooks
