R.E.A.C.T. to Knife Attacks Instructor Course
2-Day Course
$290/New Instructor Certification
$200/Returning Instructor Refresher/Continuing Education
The Rapid Evasion and Control Techniques (R.E.A.C.T.) to Knife Attacks Instructor Course equips use of force instructors with the skills and knowledge needed to establish a knife defense program for their departments to provide their officers with ongoing empty-hand defense techniques for surviving sudden knife attacks in close quarters when the distance and reaction time needed to effectively draw and fire a handgun or taser are not immediately available. This comprehensive instructor course trains officers to own the reactionary gap by reconditioning their startle flinch response to be able to evade and defend against imminent knife attacks from various angles in real time before transitioning into a takedown or off-balancing technique. Officers can then choose to disengage and create distance to draw their handgun or tactically retreat; or they can stay engaged to apply ground control submissions or disarming techniques taught during this course. These pressure-tested techniques are also effective against assailants not armed with edged weapons, allowing officers to evade knockout punches while closing the distance to make an arrest, making this system of empty-hand defense a must for agencies that prioritize providing their officers with the best survival training available.
